Robotics Chavath 2026: Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi Through Robotics, STEM & Innovation in Goa

This Ganesh Chaturthi, Qurious Mind Infotainment Pvt. Ltd. is bringing together culture, robotics, STEM education, creativity and innovation through the launch of Robotics Chavath 2026—a unique technology-driven initiative designed to encourage children to celebrate tradition while exploring the possibilities of science and technology.

Robotics Chavath 2026 provides students with an opportunity to transform their ideas into working innovations by combining robotics, electronics, programming, creative design, sustainability and digital storytelling with the spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi.

The initiative is designed for students aged 8 to 16 years, who can participate individually or in teams of up to four members.

Rather than simply learning about robotics from textbooks, participants are encouraged to design, build, experiment, troubleshoot and demonstrate their own creations. This hands-on approach makes STEM learning more engaging, practical and culturally relevant.

What Is Robotics Chavath?

Robotics Chavath is a culture-driven STEM initiative that gives children a platform to explore how technology can be creatively connected with familiar traditions and community celebrations.

The theme for 2026, “Ganapati Bappa… Tech Morya!”, invites young innovators to think beyond conventional robotics projects and develop original ideas inspired by Ganesh Chaturthi.

Participants can use robotics kits, electronic components, sensors, motors, recycled materials, locally available resources or even self-developed mechanisms to bring their concepts to life.

The emphasis is not simply on using advanced technology. It is on encouraging students to understand the technology they use, take ownership of their work and creatively communicate how their innovation functions.

Four Exciting Robotics & STEM Challenges

Robotics Chavath 2026 features four unique challenges, each offering students a different way to combine creativity, engineering and cultural themes.

1. Tech Matoli

The Tech Matoli challenge reimagines the traditional Goan Matoli by introducing robotics, electronics and creative mechanisms.

Students can explore ways to enhance the Matoli experience using movement, lighting, sensors, automation or other innovative technological elements. The challenge encourages participants to preserve the cultural essence of the Matoli while giving it a creative technological dimension.

2. Robo Aarti

The Robo Aarti challenge invites students to explore safe robotic and automated concepts inspired by Aarti traditions.

Participants can experiment with mechanisms that introduce controlled movement, automation and electronics while maintaining an appropriate and respectful connection with the cultural theme.

The challenge provides an opportunity to understand how automation can be applied creatively to familiar activities.

3. Mushak Bot

Inspired by Lord Ganesha’s Mushak, the Mushak Bot challenge asks young innovators to design and build their own robot.

Students can experiment with wheels, motors, sensors, controllers, mechanisms and creative designs to develop a robotic interpretation of the Mushak.

The challenge encourages children to apply engineering principles while giving their robot an individual identity and purpose.

4. STEM Reel

The STEM Reel challenge adds digital storytelling to the innovation experience.

Participants are required to present and explain their working project through a 60–90 second vertical Instagram Reel. The objective is not only to demonstrate what the project does, but also to communicate the idea, working principle and creativity behind it.

This makes the challenge an opportunity for students to develop both technical and communication skills.

Any Kit. Any Brand. Any Original Idea.

One of the defining features of Robotics Chavath 2026 is its inclusive approach to innovation.

Participants are not restricted to a particular robotics kit or brand. They can use any suitable resources available to them, including:

  • Robotics kits
  • Motors and gears
  • Sensors and electronic components
  • Microcontrollers
  • Recycled and upcycled materials
  • Locally available materials
  • Cardboard and structural components
  • Self-developed mechanisms
  • Original hardware and engineering concepts

This flexibility allows students with different levels of experience and access to technology to participate.

The focus is on what students create, how they create it and how well they understand and present their innovation.

What Will the Projects Be Judged On?

Robotics Chavath 2026 is designed to recognize meaningful student innovation rather than simply the complexity of a project.

Entries will be evaluated on important parameters such as:

  • Technical functionality – Does the project work effectively?
  • Creativity and design – How original and imaginative is the concept?
  • Theme relevance – How effectively does the project connect with the Robotics Chavath theme?
  • Presentation – How clearly do students demonstrate and explain their work?
  • Eco-friendliness – Does the project make thoughtful use of sustainable or recycled resources?
  • Student ownership – How well do students understand, explain and take responsibility for their creation?

This approach encourages children to become makers, problem-solvers and innovators, rather than simply assembling pre-existing projects.

₹2 Lakh in Cash Prizes and Special Recognition

Robotics Chavath 2026 will feature cash prizes worth ₹2 lakh, along with trophies and certificates.

The recognition programme will also include special jury recognitions and awards for schools, teachers and mentors.

These awards are intended to celebrate more than winning a competition. They recognize creativity, technical innovation, cultural integration, sustainability, mentorship and active participation in STEM learning.

Taking Culture-Driven STEM Learning Across Goa

For 2026, Qurious Mind is expanding its outreach through schools, educational institutions, Panchayats, Municipal bodies, community organisations and digital platforms.

The objective is to bring the idea of culture-driven innovation and experiential STEM learning closer to children across Goa.

By connecting robotics with a familiar cultural celebration, Robotics Chavath aims to demonstrate that STEM education can happen anywhere—including through traditions, community activities and creative experimentation.

The initiative also encourages schools, teachers, parents and mentors to support children as they explore engineering, robotics, electronics and digital communication.

How to Participate in Robotics Chavath 2026

Students aged 8 to 16 years can participate individually or in teams of up to four members.

Participants must build and demonstrate their working project and submit a 60–90 second vertical Instagram Reel showcasing their innovation.

As part of the submission process, participants are required to:

  1. Build an original project based on one of the four Robotics Chavath challenges.
  2. Demonstrate the working innovation.
  3. Create a 60–90 second vertical Instagram Reel.
  4. Tag @quriousmindinfo on Instagram.
  5. Use the prescribed event and category hashtags.
  6. Complete the official online submission process before the deadline.

Official Launch in Panaji

The official launch and press interaction for Robotics Chavath 2026 was held at the Directorate of Art & Culture, Panaji, in the presence of Hon’ble Shri Subhash Shirodkar, Minister for Water Resources & Cooperation, Government of Goa, along with representatives of Qurious Mind and members of the media.

The launch marks another step toward encouraging young people to view technology not merely as a subject to study, but as a tool for creative expression, cultural connection, problem-solving and innovation.
