Qurious Mind marked a significant milestone in Goa’s educational landscape by organising Sankalpana – Goa STEM Challenge 1.0 on November 23rd, 2024 at Ravindra Bhavan in Baina, Vasco Da Gama. This comprehensive celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics was organized in collaboration with Rotary Club of Vasco Port Town, in association with Ravindra Bhavan Baina, Media Partners Prime Media Goa, and our partners – Rotaract Club of Vasco Da Gama, Shirodkar Edutech Academy, Infinyt3D, and Sansrujan Information Technology. This event helped us in bringing together young innovators from across the state.
Ryan Vaz, founder of Infynyt 3D, and Mr. Saish Gandhi, Nodal Officer of Vidhya Samiksha Kendra from the Goa Education Department, inaugurated the event. Ravindra Bhavan Chairman Mr. Jayant Jadhav and Qurious Mind Managing Director Shri Yogesh Kerkar were also present. Rotary Club of Vasco Port Town President Mugdha Kamat delivered the welcome address.
The challenge showcased five engaging competitive categories that tested the participants’ skills and creativity. Students demonstrated their expertise through the high-energy Robo Race, innovative Robotics Construction Challenge, knowledge-testing Science Quiz, creative Science EXPO, and practical Bridge Building Contest. The event’s success was evident in its extraordinary participation, drawing talented students from 20 schools from all across Goa, with over 250 enthusiastic participants showcasing their innovative abilities.
A standout feature of Sankalpana 2024 was the specialized Robotics Construction Workshop which received an overhelming response. Participants gained valuable hands-on experience with Qurio Reach and Qurio Spark robotic kits, enhancing their understanding of robotics and engineering principles. The event was further enriched by Mr. Indra Kumar’s engaging session titled “Fun with Science Experiments,” which made complex scientific concepts both accessible and entertaining for all participants.
The closing ceremony and prize distribution was graced by Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar as the chief guest. Mr. Manoj Patil, who serves as Founder Trustee of Vibrant Goa Foundation and Additional Principal Consultant to Goa’s Chief Minister, attended as the Guest of Honor. Special invitees included Jayant Jadhav, Yogesh Kerkar, Gautam Kharangate, and Mohsina Khan. Project Director Rohan Bandekar served as the master of ceremonies, while Dattaraj Gawas delivered the vote of thanks.
The successful organising of SANKALPANA Goa S.T.E.M Challenge not only exemplifies the growing interest in STEM education across Goa but also highlights the community’s steadfast commitment to nurturing the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
